About Boswells

Boswells has been trading in Oxford since 1738 and is the city's largest independent department store. Boswells specialises in the following departments: Cookshop, Gifts, Linens, Luggage, Photographic, Cosmetics, Pharmacy and Toys. We are known in Oxford for stocking a far wider range of goods than many of our chain-store competitors.

Our website allows us to give you a flavour of the extensive range of goods available at our store. We have a website covering our Cookshop department and Toy department (other departments to follow soon), but you can enquire about any of the products featured in our store by emailing or, if you prefer, just call us on Oxford +44 (0)1865 241244 and we will be happy to advise you and hopefully take your order. We aim to deliver your goods within a maximum of five working days of receipt of your order.

Right in the centre of Oxford

Boswells has entrances in Broad Street and Cornmarket Street in the centre of Oxford, opposite Debenhams. Oxford has a 'park and ride' system, where you can leave your car in a car park on the edge of the city and take a bus to the centre. Alternatively, there are city centre car parks at Westgate Centre (below Queen Street) and Gloucester Green (above George Street). We are in walking distance of the many famous colleges and buildings making up the University of Oxford.
